This year I have resolved to life my life with a more open heart. Events of 2013, especially the loss of a dear friend, have taught me to rethink my priorities and how I value the people in my life. I will strive to remember how short life is and how important each person in my life is. Life is so short and I need to take advantage of every moment I have.
This layout was inspired by the new year and by my new outlook on life. I am posting it on the scrapbooking challenge blog "Challenge YOUrself," a blog that challenges you to create layouts with YOU in the photos! (Made for those of us who typically stand behind the camera rather than in front of it)
On this layout most of the materials came from my Citrus Twist kits. I also used Heidi Swapp mist for the splashes, and modeling paste to add some extra texture to the page. Forgive the shadows.... I couldn't wait until daylight to take a better photo. :)

What brought me here
Hello!
My name is Heather and my wonderful friend Shawna of Scrap Your Mama Never Taught You, convinced me several months ago to give scrapbooking a try. I was skeptical because I already have a hobby (photography), and I didn't have the desire at the time to develop a new one! She helped me create a page (which I was only going to frame, and be done with scrapping!), and waited patiently for me to realize that I was hooked! Since then I've had a blast learning new techniques, and using all of the amazing products that are available these days. I subscribe to Citrus Twist Kits, and I participate every week in the Color Stories Inspiration challenge. I'm developing this blog so that I can participate in other challenges and contests that require a link to a blog. We will see where it goes from there! Happy Scrapping!
